A sleek 3 pivot, weighted based, desk lamp designed to be made from furniture grade 18mm Birch Ply, with a LED light source.
The 3 pivots are fingered together to increase the clutch surfaces so the cross bolt can easily lock the joint with a small amount of tightening.
I designed this Lamp for my Dad’s Christmas present a couple of years ago. At that point I had only made two, the prototype which is sitting on my desk at home and the one I gifted. The design has been sitting on my laptop ever since so I thought it was time to publish some of that work.
We’ve installed two different lighting arrays into these lamps; a bright high powered 12v daylight running panel which gives a strong working light, idea for model making and intricate design work, and a lower power battery-powered motion sensor LED that gives a warm, more decorative light.
